Mako Boardsports BRAND AND COMPANY

Mako Boardsports are force to be reckoned with, they are not a new startup company, Gilo Cardozo the founder of the company and Gilo Industries has brought out some amazing products already. My favorite is the flying car and one of the most popular is the Parajet. This team has been doing designing, engineering and manufacturing in the aviation industry for many years. Their experience, skills and industry standards are exceptional. Plus, this Mako Slingshot board is the best of British, everything is manufactured in England and I believe this is the beginning of a very exciting new brand. Keep an eye on these guys it's going to be hard to miss them!

WHAT MAKES THIS BOARD INTERESTING?

The shape of this jetboard is very special

Front, nose, tail ... this is something we haven't seen before, mako offers a streamlined jetboard with a longer rail allowing super nice turns. The nose shows a bigger curve than other boards so you can take bigger waves and the jetboard doesn't stick in so easy.

Adjustable hand control System with an On/Off button

Just release the cord so you can use it from different heights

Mako Jetboard Floatable Magnet key with kill switch

By keeping the cord around the wrist, the rider can fall safely as the engine will be immediately shut down.

Footstraps left and right (Standardly)

Super easy change around footstraps with enough remaining room on the jetboard

Soft Cover Pads

Having this extra pad in the middle, in choppy conditions is going to keep your knees from being cut up from bouncing around on the carbon fiber.

Removable Compact Waterproof Ignition Battery Pack

No need to bring your board at home to charge the battery pack, remove the battery pack and bring it home or charge it in the car while driving to your favorite spot! Also bring spares with you at the beach and ride all day long. No need to open the jetboard to refuel or recharge it!

Steps to remove the ultra compact ignition battery pack

Mako jetboard direct and easy access to the gas tank cap

Mako Bonus: 3L Premix Measuring System Container Specifically Designed

Fill up the petrol into one side, oil in the other side of the gas tank and you mix it. No need for funnels as there is one in it. Just press the button, the fuel is released in the board tank and that's it. So literally you can just stick it in, upside down, leave it and it stops when it's full thanks to the integrated valve.

3 Buttons pop Off floatable lid - Super Easy Access To The Engine

... but you shouldn't need to open the lid.

Engine bay is segregated from the inside of the board so if you do get water in, you can turn the board on the side and the water roles out

LED Light indicator

When you power up, you put the magnet and press the handle button, it engages the engine, the light flashes and then when the engine is running the light remains lit up for the whole ride. If you have any issue, the light flashes again and you know that you have a low battery for example and you should be coming in, or your ignition system is not working, ... little details like that.

Easy to carry with dedicated handles

Located close to the tail of the slingshot, on both sides of the board, they make it way easier to carry the board down to the water. It helps especially if your arms are not long enough to wrap around the board. As a reminder the board is 596 mm width (23,46 in.).

Handles really make the difference on that board, (not everyone but) you can carry it with one arm! Daniel

Clic-and-clac FCS Fins, No screw

Super easy to set.

THE EYE OF THE RIDER: Expectations met and exceeded

A lot of great ideas and a board full of surprises. Just at a glance, the things that I like are the long rails, all the pads are good quality and much thicker but my favorite thing is the engine edge cover. To be able to just push those 3 buttons and remove it is great. It has got so many features ... The battery, the fact that you can take it out and charge it alone is fantastic. You can adjust the throttle cable cord every time someone uses the board to suit the rider. All these little things you guys have been paying attention to. You've obviously been using the board a lot and you know what the riders are looking for. Wayne

This board is fast and powerful, with great floatability, it is easy to stand up on it. I love it! Mike

This is a really high-end board that behaves really well in the water, it's very promising and exciting. Daniel

Wayne Brooks

Wayne Brooks (Founder of Jet Board Limited)
Based in South of England and South of Spain. Born and bread in South Africa where I grew up outdoors, on the beach and in the water. I started buying and collecting the old jet boards many moons ago and got involved in the new boards around 2014. I'm passionate about anything and everything Jet Board related. I really enjoy promoting and been part of the industry and I get a great deal of satisfaction out of helping others and sharing my knowledge and experience. I definitely don't claim to know it all and I enjoy learning new things every day. When I started, the industry was very new and information was not freely available. I had to learn the hard way which was also the expensive way. I now have a company called Jet Board Limited where myself and my team offer, hire, lessons and sales of all various makes and brands of Jet Boards. We offer free unbiased advice to any potential buyer. We joined up and partnered with Motorsurf Nation because we want to contribute and be part of creating one main, central hub where all jet board related topics, articles, reviews, feedback and information can be shared. I found that myself and Jet Board Limited have spent years repeating ourselves and telling people the same things over and over which is a huge waste of energy if the information cannot be found so we will now be posting and publishing everything on the Motorsurf Nation site for all to have access to. We trust and hope that we will be able to help you and we welcome you into the world of Jet Boards.
